Level 3 Diploma in Policing
Overall Objective for the Qualification
The forerunner to this qualification was the Level 3 NVQ in Initial Policing and the Level 4 NVQ in Initial Policing. Following feedback from police forces, the Sector Skills Council for the Justice sector carried out consultation with police forces and awarding organisations to review the NVQs and in 2010 the Level 3 Diploma in Policing replaced the NVQs.
This qualification is provided for police officers, to confirm their competence following initial training.
There are no pre-entry requirements for this qualification. Learners may have completed a Level 3 Certificate in Policing where credit transfer for some qualification units will be allowed.
