Overall Objective for the Qualification
The Level 4 Certificate in Police First Line Management is for individuals who are aspiring and practising managers within the police sector.
The objective of this qualification is to support individuals to develop the specific knowledge, understanding and skills that are required within first line management in the police service. It covers areas such as supervising investigations and responses to critical incidents, law enforcement operations, as well as briefing and debriefing members of staff.
There are no pre-entry requirements for enrolling to complete this qualification but candidates will need to be aspiring and practising managers within the police sector.
Units and Rules of Combination
This qualification comprises 6 units, all of which must be completed to achieve a total of 25 credits.
The 6 units are:
Conduct intelligence driven briefing, tasking and debriefing
Prepare for, monitor and maintain, law enforcement operations
Set objectives and provide support for team members
Manage personal development
Supervise investigations and investigators
Supervise the response to critical incidents
