What does RQF mean for Learners?

At the beginning of October 2015 OfQual withdrew the Regulatory Arrangements for the QCF (Qualification Credits Framework) and replaced it with a new framework for qualifications called the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). So what does this mean? Basically, QCF was very prescriptive about how qualifications should be structured – the RQF allows more flexibility for creating qualifications. QCF Credits will be replaced with RFQ Total Qualification Time (TQT), part of which is Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

Nothing about this change is of any real significance to Learners. NVQs are still NVQs or VQs, and are assessed and quality assured in the same way; therefore, the Level 3 Assessor and Level 4 IQA Certificates are still the qualifications to have. See here for a (very) brief explanation.
